“When our vets return from serving their country, let’s make sure their country is ready to serve them.” ~ Colonel David Sutherland, Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Defense
Compass Yoga places a special emphasis on helping returning veterans and their families (including children), particularly those affected in some way by PTSD, TBI, depression, insomnia, grief, extreme stress, or anxiety. This focus is a personal passion of Christa Avampato, Compass Yoga’s founder, who has personally used yoga as a means of treatment for several bouts of PTSD that she has experienced in her own life. Her father suffered from undiagnosed PTSD for most of his adult life so she has a unique understanding of how to use yoga to help children who are affected by a parent who has PTSD.
